Everyone needs a role model. To me, a role model is a person whom is doing something that you have always wanted to do. They must be nice to children, and love what they do. They must also take control of situations and know how to handle them with ease. I have a few role models but the greatest one that stands out is my friend April Walk.

April Walk is from Sigel, Illinois. She has been around horses for over 28 years and owns her own nice facility for horses. She barrel races in the summer and throws her own horse shows. She owns a horse tack (and western wear) shop and is greatly successful. She is very loving and kind and would do anything to help someone.

She is my role model because I have always wanted to own a place like hers. Until last year, I had never thought that I would be able to barrel race at all. She helped me succeed. She told me where all the horse shows were and when something went wrong, she was there to help. She always helped; she even rode my horse when she was trying to rear up on me. She taught me what the problem was and how to fix it.

When I wanted a new horse, whe helped me by telling me her thoughts on it and whether or not she liked it. Shw made it so much easier. She even let me carry the American Flag at her last horse show even though I made myself look stupid. She let me ride on a trail with her just to go exercise the horses and our horses were trying to race each other.

Overall, April is a great woman and extraordinary horse person. She loves to be with horses and loves to be around people. She would help anyone with anything and know what to do in many bad situations. If you have a problem with a horse, go to her. If not, she is just a wonderful person to stop in and say hi to!

Coyote Creek Tack of Sigel , Illinois is where I shop most of the time and it is in-expensive and April Walk is the greatest.

Lindsey has boarded her horse here on numerous occasions, ridden in the fun shows, taken a few riding lessons, had me assist her in training her horse & helped me in the tack shop & stables for several years.

The Steinhoff family is very friendly and down to earth for famous folk. They even helped me with a fun show for lesson students during their stay! They were happy with my facility and care of their horses and the kids enjoyed swimming in my kiddy pool and playing basketball and volleyball.". . . 11/8/02) - "The facilities are nice and the host is accommodating. April is a very pleasent person to be around and very friendly. . . . When I boarded my horse for two weeks out there, she allowed me to use the arenas and round pen any time I wanted to. I started having troubles with my horse in riding and she helped me work it out. She has over 3 hours worth of trails for your enjoyment and they are always clean ones. The horses even get the enjoyment of snacking on some corn stalks while on the way down the trail! If I were to say in one word how my overall experience at CCT and CCSI was I would say: WONDERFUL! April has a very nice facility." (11/15/04) - "April was very friendly and professional. The facilities are clean and inviting. Coyote Creek Stables is convenient to the interstate for travelers. Boarder for 4 years until she moved to the country - I have boarded a horse (actually 3 or 4 different horse) with April for about three years. I highly recommend Coyote Creek Stables to anyone who needs a safe, fun place to keep a horse. April has always been very helpful to me when I have had a problem or question (and I’ve had quite a few). April’s facilities are always clean and free of hazards to people and horses. I have brought inexperienced friends out to ride and April was always willing to take us on a trail ride. My friends were very impressed with her, and with how well behaved her horses are, especially with an inexperienced rider “on board”. I plan to continue boarding with April at Coyote Creek Stables. Boarder - I was a first time horse owner and it was great! April was there to work with me and my horse any time. The summer horse shows made it all worthwhile. Mandy

Boarders for 4 years - My sister and I decided to take horse back riding lessons. We called and visited facilities in the area. When we arrived at April’s we both felt at home. April and the other boarders were friendly. We started our horseback riding lessons and after one we went into the tack shop and entered a raffle drawing. The prize was a 6 month old red dun filly. On New Year’s Day, a call notifies us we had won. So we had our first horse and we named her Snuggles. We boarded at April’s. She helped us with questions and lending a hand when needed with training. My sister has participated in horse shows held at April’s & my niece takes lessons. Boarding horses at April’s is more than just a place. The people are friendly and enjoy gong on group rides and having horse shows. There is nothing more comforting than knowing that Snuggles is supervised and surrounded with warmth and friendliness. Angie
